Create a Spa Experience in Your Home: DIY Facial
Facials are a great way to take time out for yourself and also take care of your skin. I love visiting the spa for this dedicated self-care time and to indulge in a facial; however, facials at the spa can be pricey! But there’s no reason why you can’t create your own at home spa experience. Here are a few simple tips to create a spa environment in your own home at a fraction of the price.
Atmosphere: Lighting and Music
When you walk into a spa, you are automatically at ease with the environment that surrounds you, the relaxing music playing and soft lighting make you leave your worries behind. How can one duplicate this? Create a relaxing music playlist on your phone, or if you prefer the sound of nature, create a nature playlist. To create soft lighting consider turning off the main light source in the room and use candles as a source of light and/or another light source that has soft lighting.
Bubble Bath & Epson Salt
Some people love bubble baths while others can’t stand them. I am one of those individuals who love bubble baths. I found the secret to create a soothing bubble bath with lasting bubbles is to add Epson salt to your bath water. Epson salt has many health benefits; it helps to relieve inflammation to ease sore muscles, reduce swelling and promotes sleep.
Try an Epson Salt body scrub to exfoliate dead skin
Mix a handful of Epson salt with olive oil and rub all over your skin then rinse off thoroughly.
To create your own do-it-yourself facemask here’s an easy recipe that will help your skin glow. This honey and orange-based mask will help bring out your skin’s natural glow.
Honey Citrus Mask
1. Combine three tablespoons of orange juice with a quarter-cup of honey.
2. Rub the mixture lightly over your face and then leave it on for 15 minutes.
3. Rinse with lukewarm water and, as always and forever, then apply a moisturizer.
