What began your passion for health and wellness?                                                                During the time I was studying at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition, I was also competing in bodybuilding (bikini) competitions. When I first started the program, I was obviously passionate about health and fitness – but I didn’t really know what I wanted to focus my business on after I finished my studies. About halfway through the program, I found myself obsessed with learning more and more about hormones. I think the obsession was partially due to the fact that I had lost my menstrual cycle due to being at such a low body fat for competitions.

After doing all of my own research and achieving balance back in my body (and coming to terms with the fact that the way I was currently living was unsustainable), I was so passionate about helping others achieve the same balance back into their lives. This was the moment I decided I wanted to focus on health (not just fitness) and specialize in hormone balancing and sustainable weight-loss.

Why do you think wellness has become such a popular trend these days?                         I think the concept of wellness has become such a popular trend these days because people are starting to realize how good they can feel. Health and wellness isn’t just about looking fit – it’s also about feeling happy from the inside out and indulging in experiences that promote well-being and sharing those experiences with friends.

Her morning routine...
My morning routine consists of: morning stretches, warm water with ACV, contrast shower, and coffee.

Her bedtime routine...                                                                                                             My bedtime routine consists of: Washing my face/face masks, moisturizing, brushing my teeth or oil pulling, tea and an Epsom bath 1-2x a week or magnesium oil.

How do you stay positive?
I have trained myself to always do my best to remain positive. When you start appreciating yourself for all the things that you (and your body) are doing and the effort you are putting forth and remembering that positivity is a choice - I personally think positivity just comes more naturally.

How do you enjoy being active?
I personally follow my two training guides "The Happy Hormone 12-Week Exercise Guide" and "The Happy Hormone 12-Week Exercise Guide 2.0" as they are specifically periodized to promote a more positive hormonal profile.

In regards to enjoying being active, instead of seeing exercise as a punishment - I encourage you to shift your focus and find an exercise that you look forward to everyday. Discovering a type of exercise that you are passionate about can really change your perspective on taking care of yourself!

What’s the greatest lesson you’ve learned so far?
The greatest lesson I’ve learnt so far is to just enjoy what is, and not take everything so seriously. You have one life to live, so live it well and don’t sweat the small stuff.

What’s one thing you want people to know about your brand? About you as a person?
Authenticity is what I stand for, it’s everything.

What does ‘Healthy is Hot’ mean to you?
It means exactly what it sounds like. Feeling confident in your body is important, but it's also important to have a healthy relationship with food and to fuel your body with the nutrients it needs to maintain optimal health, right down to the cellular level.
