How I Get Sh*t Done: Jennifer Ettinger
Love social media? Well, then you and Jennifer Ettinger would totally get along! Jennifer is known as Canada’s first Social Media correspondent who has built a rep for creating true, amplified brand awareness across social media channels! You may recognize her as CTV’s Social Media and Online Public Relations Correspondent covering premieres, launches, campaigns and Red Carpet events like the Oscars and Vanity Fair events! Jennifer has also been named one of Canada’s top 100 Health Influencers by OptiMYz Magazine! She is a certified health coach, with 14 years of experience! Healthy is Hot sat down with Jennifer to talk everything social media, where her happy place is, and why self-care is so important.
Social media is still such a new venture for journalism- what advice would you give to anyone thinking of diving into the world of social media as a career?
One Facebook post changed my life, which turned into the career I have today. I have been very blessed to have a mentor in this industry, who is a true visionary. Everything I have learned has been from “ thinking outside of the box”. My advice, don’t be afraid to step out of the norm and embrace the unknown.
So it’s your average day- what’s your morning routine look like?
I start my day at 6 am for my workouts. It varies from day to day, from cardio dance to strength training. Followed by a quick bath. I then select my essential oils to wear for the day, and time to wake my daughter for high school! Once she is awake, I am in "Mom mode;” getting my daughter ready for school ( breakfast, backpack, lunch prep), and drive her to school, so that am ready for my clients at 9 am.
How do you unwind?
I love unwinding in front of the fire (on colder days), enjoying my scented candle collection, and or nestled in my favorite chair watching a British mystery.
What are some of your favourite things to have in your workspace?
I LOVE my workspace. It is my happy place! The decor is Bubble gum pink, black and white! I have a “Happiness Alter” with some of my favorite things: My OSCARS red carpet mementos, unicorns, facebook swag, alongside my glitter #HAPPY.
I am very sensitive to energy. Having been bedridden in the past, I learned to allow myself a lot of "self-care," to be able to do the things "I love to do.” My nighttime routine
consists of spending time with my husband and daughter, followed by a bath while diffusing essential oils. Lastly, I love to read, so you will find me in bed reading my kindle.
How do you combine creativity into your life every day?
In reference to “creativity", I am very fortunate. Whether I am planning a workout program for a client or writing a Social PR proposal, creativity is engrained in my daily work and very much the essence of what I do.
Personal assistant or Calendar apps?
My phone is my life. I book everything on my calendar. Notifications are my personal assistant!
How do you stay active?
I stay active by being disciplined with my morning workouts. I live near a trail system, so I take my doggy, Sprinkles, on the trails as part of my daily routine. It is my way to bond with him, destress and unwind.
What’s one thing you want people to know about your brand?
Great question! I have been an entrepreneur for 14 years and lead with that mentality. On the fitness and wellness side, I have had my own personal struggles and want women to know I have walked their "body images issues,” walk. On the Social PR side, I am ALL about authenticity, and working organically, to promote a brand- No shortcuts! Real is where it’s at!

"Healthy & Hot," is a delicious mindset to be in. A goddess, who understands the importance of nourishing her mind, body, and soul!
