Dealing With Change

Change is inevitable. Whether we like it or not, things change. As humans, we’re constantly evolving, constantly growing, and constantly becoming better versions of ourselves. When our lives change, it can be so scary.

I’m someone who loves familiarity. I love a routine. But what I’ve started to learn is that trying to force things to stay the same will only hold you back from all of the incredible possibilities that life has to offer. It’s easy to get comfortable with the way things are. But staying in that safe zone is going to prevent you from developing into the person you have yet to become.

It’s important to acknowledge change. Whether it’s the tough reality that some relationships don’t last or maybe you suddenly feel like you’re growing up too fast. With any part of change, it’s natural to be scared. In fact, recognizing that fear could help you work through all of the things you may be going through.

Last year I dealt with a lot of change. Starting university, making new friends, adjusting to a new schedule, and even losing loved ones. This was a time in my life where I was faced with so much change, I thought my life would be never be the same. However, what I learned from all of this, is that change has made me stronger.

You change every day. Sometimes we realize it and sometimes we don’t. The little changes and the big ones all have an impact in the way we live our lives. The best thing to do when dealing with it, is to embrace it. Remember that it’s a good thing. You can live your best life as your best self when you accept change.
