The Importance of Taking Time for Yourself

Hi HIH family! 

As we’re starting a new year, it’s always a goal to improve. Hence we make New Years resolutions and this year I wanted to devote more time into my job and career but I’m quickly learning that I also have to take time for myself as well. When you’re always on the go it’s easy to burn yourself out ... I mean let’s face it. We’re only human!! There’s only so much we can accomplish in a day and some are more productive than others. I guess at some point I have to learn to be okay with that and in between take time for myself and rejuvenate or do something I love. 

As silly as it may sound, I try to schedule in little moments ... but with a busy schedule you kind of have to. Forcing myself to pause and enjoy a moment of happiness is something I NEED to do. Everyday I go to work and every other day I make time for a HIH moment whether that’s an at home work out, time to go to the gym or I just go to a quick class so isn’t it right that I make time for myself as well? 

Now I don’t know about you but I’m so excited to have Grey’s Anatomy back in my life every week so I think this will be my starting point for making time for me ... every Thursday! I want to encourage my HIH family to do the same. You’re mental health and clarity is just as important as everything else you juggle with in your life so make sure you take the time to take care of YOU whether that’s one a week, twice a week or every day! Find something you truly enjoy and makes you and only you happy! Do what makes you smile from ear to ear, do something that makes you relaxed, do something that recharges you, do something you don’t get the chance to do very often ... bottom line do something that makes you happy no matter what that is!
