Podcast Launch; from terrified to dream come true!
Hey HIH fam, Chloe Wilde here!
You know those moments in life when you can’t quite believe how lucky you are? Last week when we launched the #HIHPodcast was one of those moments. This project has been a long time in the making, almost two years ago to the day. Three episodes never made it off my desktop because life took a bit of a turn, one that knocked the wind out of me, and as I was struggling in my personal life it trickled in to every aspect of my being: work, social life, passion projects, self-identity and motivation. Needless to say, a lot was put on the back-burner while I dealt with this big change, it took a long time to rebuild to regain my footing, but guess what? I did.
So here we are, two years later and the podcast is finally out in the world! Unfortunately those previous episodes are lost in the ether somewhere on an old laptop that quit on me during that rough period (shout out to Sasha and Kenzie for being understanding of this), and as the old saying goes, the show must go on.
If I’m being completely transparent, I was TERRIFIED to launch the podcast, especially with the first episode where I bare all and share my personal struggles with body image, a strained relationship with food and my ongoing journey towards self-love. It was important to me to kick off the podcast with a moment of vulnerability from my perspective, since future episodes would hopefully be of guests sharing their own moments of vulnerability with our audience. Tit for tat, ya know? But more than that, there was this little negative voice in my head that would whisper “no one will tune in, they won’t connect with the podcast, it will all be for nothing.” The important thing to remember with this, is that no matter who you are, everyone has that little voice pestering us with negativity and it is our choice to give it attention or to keep pushing forward regardless of it. Life has enough obstacles, let’s not be an obstacle ourselves in our quest to achieving our dreams!
The feedback from those first two episodes was more than I could have dreamed of, from text messages, to DMs, to 5 star ratings, I couldn’t believe the initial reaction. It was overwhelmingly beautiful and I want to thank every single person who contributed to the positive energy circulating that day. Last night I had a dinner date with Raia Carey and she felt that energy too, as the first guest of the podcast she felt the same way about the reaction - missed her episode? Listen to it here.
As another weekend wraps up, another episode of the #HIHpodcast arrives to help kick off your week to hopefully inspire, motivate, and drive you to live your Healthy Is Hot life.
All my love,
