How To Be Unapologetically YOU!

This week on the Healthy Is Hot podcast, we welcome the Beyoncé of Yoga, Jessamyn Stanley! Jessamyn is an author, yoga teacher, entrepreneur, advocate, podcast host, and Co-Founder of @theunderbellyyoga. She is an internationally acclaimed voice in wellness highly sought after for her insights on 21st century yoga and intersectional identity.

On this episode of the podcast, you'll hear all about Jessamyn’s yoga journey and how YOU can use yoga to:

  • Help push your boundaries

  • Let yourself shine

  • Be unapologetically you

  • Let go of yesterday

  • Find and radiate compassion

Now, after practicing yoga for 10 years, Jessamyn’s relationship with yoga has completely changed. Jessamyn went from feeling alienated and felt the postures were impossible in her first Bikram yoga class, to feeling unapologetically herself on her yoga mat - and inspiring others to feel the same.

Through this experience, Jessamyn realized how often she told herself no. While she questioned her abilities and worth, she found yoga became her solace through some really rough times. She learned how to accept that the waves are supposed to happen - that what comes up must come down - and the idea that it’s okay to live in between, to live in the gray area. As a result, she has learned to practice compassion, and shift away from living in a place of fear.

Through her yoga journey, Jessamyn noticed that when we think other people are judging us, it’s often a reflection of how we feel about ourselves. This pushed Jessamyn to build a space where ultimately, through yoga, she can share her true self, taking up space unapologetically and inspiring others to do the same.
